Responsibilities

He heard a knock and he hurried to the door. As he opened the door, he sighed in relief as he saw Jessica standing in front of the door, dressed in a long sleeve black jacket and blue jeans trousers.

"Jess," he called slowly as he looked at her pale face which was bowed a little.

"What's wrong? You haven't been taking my calls," he said as she walked into the room.

She gulped and wiped the tears that escaped her eyes. He stood behind her and watched her wipe her face. He became curious and he moved to her front.

"What is wrong with you? Are you okay?" He asked curiously as he looked into her face.

She gulped again and the words became stuck in her throat. She didn't know where to start from and she began to count her fingers.

"Jess," he called as he placed his two hands on her shoulders

"I'm..pregnant" she muttered hastily as she raised her face to look at him.

Silence fell in and no sound could be heard in the room as he looked into her face with their bodies two meters apart.
