THE SLUM

5:45 PM, VENO SLUM

The sun was beginning to set as they drove into the slum.

He couldn't take his eyes off the place which brought back memories of his childhood. The memories were more of adulthood than of childhood, he thought as he smiled while adjusting his glasses.

Looking out of the car window, he could see the old dirty houses that lined up the streets with almost falling roofs. The road was rough with stagnant Waters occupying it.

As the car moved slowly down the road, they could see boys and girls, men and women moving around the crowded street.

A few teenagers could be seen smoking around the corner, while some girls were frolicking around them.

There were mini restaurants around and he couldn't help the smell of tapche which protruded out of the restaurants.

He could also see kids running around, all dressed tattardly.
