CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO.

Two knocks on the huge door was all it took for the servants to open it up. It was a middle aged woman dressed in a maid's attire that opened the large doors of the Miller family mansion to Gladys Diego.

Gladys recognized the maid immediately. She was Susan, the Miller family house keeper. Immediately the woman saw that it was Gladys who was knocking on the door, she opened the door wider for the woman to walk into the house and Gladys did.

"Good day, Mrs Diego." The housekeeper finally greeted Gladys when she had securely locked the door again.

"Good day, Susan. Is Mr Miller in?" Gladys responded.

"Oh surely. Let me go tell him you are waiting." The housekeeper replied.

The maid turned around swiftly and ascended the stairs. Gladys still stood at the spot where the maid left her at. She could not help but notice the cold welcome and how she wasn't offered even a seat and she was a lier if she said she didn't know why.
