I stood beneath the warm spray of the shower, the water cascading over me like a soothing embrace. I closed my eyes, and the gentle stream of water became a soothing melody, its rhythm echoing through the tiled bathroom. I ran my fingers into my hair, allowing water to build up in the thin strands.

As the droplets kissed my skin, my mind wandered back to the events of the previous evening, the echoes of our dinner conversation still lingering in my thoughts.

After Clint's phone had beeped, interrupting our meal, his expression had shifted, a veil of worry clouding his features. My concern had grown with each passing second, but when I had asked him what was wrong, he had brushed it off, claiming it was nothing.
