Malachi POV.

After the portal closed. I went in search of Mindy. I need to find her. We need to have the conversation.

“Don’t be too hard on her. She was only a baby when the attack happened.” Hyde reminds me. Even though I know he is right, something is off with this whole thing.

“I know buddy, it’s just I need answers.” I say as I move through the packhouse and find one of the omegas.

“Hey, Carley. That female I asked you to show to a room. Where is she?” I ask her and she smiles at me.

“I placed her on the guest floor. I think she is showering and changing. Malachi, who is she? She seemed so scared. The poor thing has been through a lot.” She says, and I nod my head. She isn’t wrong.

Mindy came here, bruised and bleeding. That was before Aura pounced on her. She was skin and bone. Clearly living like a nomad for a goddess knows how long.
