Dahlia POV.

Pins and needles rush all over my body as I groan in pain. Heat envelopes me and the fragrant smell of smoke and is that … BBQ? Whatever it is, it fills my nose. My stomach grumbles, embarrassingly loud. But this has to be a dream. Isn’t this wonderful? I’m dreaming of fire and damn BBQ!

Voices now fill my ears more like whispers, but I can’t open my eyes, my eyelids are too heavy. So I just lie here. Did I die? No, surely not. If I did, I’m almost certain I would be with Selene and Lycaon in Elysium right now. Not dreaming of a BBQ.

“How long had she been out there?” The female voice grows louder as they come near me. The sound of the fire crackles and pops.

“Maybe a few hours. She is lucky we found her. Otherwise, she would be dead. Whoever she is, she is strong. She is a fighter.” The other voice, a male, says, and I try to wiggle my fingers to grab their attention. Still, I can’t feel Celeste, so it would seem she has left me to it.
