I’m headed back to my foster parents’ house for my birthday. Meme rides with me in Spin’s car, unusually quiet, like she’s trying really hard to keep a secret which she doesn’t do too well with! The next morning, Loyalty and Meme drove off in my car as I drove my Hummer to the shop. On the way home, I stopped at the jeweler to pick up her ring for tomorrow, and plan out all the possible scenarios of how it would go. Honestly, I’m petrified of her actually saying no! I’m sitting in Spin’s car in the school’s parking lot. So much has changed in my life over Winter break that my head is in overdrive mode.
