telling the truth

After 16 years: 

Maggie's point of view:

-"I don't believe in you." I laughed hysterically. He just tries to scare me, that he could rule my life with that stupid mind of him to marry a stranger. This is just another manipulation of his crazy thoughts. He loved her, he is with a cold attitude, he doesn't understand humans, he acts sometimes as an asshole but he would never hurt anybody about he cares especially my mother, he talked about her like she would be a goddess to him. "You loved her". I tried to convince myself in a whisper as well as him if I would know better what he did and what he didn't, I laughed and cried at the same time of his words which didn't make any sense. But he didn't laugh, he wasn't angry, he just stared at me without any emotions. Why he is not defending himself? Why he looks that he was talking the truth? Why his face is full of guilty? Why he doesn't say anything.
