Chapter 14

I woke up to murmurs around me. As my senses came to, I realized I was lying on a couch that was in Thomas’s office. Slowly sitting up I held one hand to my head and the other shielded my eyes from the fluorescent lights. I felt like I was run over by a train.

“Quinn,” I heard Thomas’s voice as he rushed over to me. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine, I just wanted to make a lasting first impression at school.” joking, not wanting to show how embarrassed I was.

Thomas chuckled, moving a strand of hair that fell in my face over my shoulder. “Well, I would say you definitely made a lasting impression kiddo.”

I shrugged.

Thomas’s eyes glazed over, communicating with someone through the mind link. He growled and stood up quickly mumbling to himself.
