Chapter 44

Quinn POV

It takes the doctor only a couple of minutes to rush Sam into another hospital room. My mind is feeling dizzy from my panic. Derek has been taken by someone who is supposed to be dead.

Sam was unable to give us any more information before he passed out from his injuries.

I try to reach out to my bond with Derek but all I get is silence and a sense of dread. The feeling only intensifies as I breathe. I begin to choke, my breath feeling like it is being taken away from me.

“Quinn, Quinn what’s happening!” I hear the panicked voice of Mandy.

I claw at my throat trying to remove whatever is taking my air away. Just as my vision begins to tunnel, the vice around my throat vanishes. I gasp as I try to catch my breath. Sucking in as much oxygen as possible.

I feel my mother’s hand rub my back as my breathing starts to regulate.

“What just happened?” I croak out.

“I think it was your bond.” Rachel says matter-of-factly. My eyes widen at her words, knowing that she is right.
