Chapter Thirty - Going To Sicily To Face The Don

“Stop, Sophia. I know exactly why you’re here. Luigi sent you to get me, right? Own up or I’ll drag you to the clinic for a paternity test. Then I’ll hand you over to the cops for falsely convicting me.” Matteo stood up with a solemn look on his face, intending to do as he said.

“Please don’t hand me over to the cops.” She covered her face, breaking down at last.

“Then get out of here and never return. You’ve wasted my time already with your shit,” he gritted out angrily, walking towards the door to hold it open for her.

“Please, Matteo. Luigi won’t pay me anything if I fail to get you to meet Don.” She grabbed her child’s hand, ready to leave.

“That’s your headache, Sophia. I’ll meet him whenever I visit Italy. Maybe next month or maybe immediately. I can’t promise.” Sophia sighed and walked out of his shop with her child, having failed in her mission to convince Matteo.
