To say that my jaw hits the floor is certainly an understatement.

“I beg your pardon?”

He shrugs and I guess this is his way to close the conversation. But I put my hand on the table, as if to stop him in his movements before I retrieve it slowly, coursing my stupid ass.

“Are you serious?”

He nods, lifting a brow at me. “Yeah.”

“What?” Taking a deep breath, I sit back into my chair, continuing to stare at him.

Lowering my voice and leaning over the table slightly, he is already looking at me annoyed. “Is this why they are standing there?”

He nods again, and I can see his demeanor shift. “Why?”

I shrug, whispering. “Well… After all what you told me and seeing that we have the only table up here. I thought we would be alone.”

He smiles before taking a sip from his glass and gestures to Dario to come close. He nears us with an unreadable expression and leans down to his boss as he gives him the order to leave us alone.

“Yes, boss.”
