“ Emma step back! Something's not right. ” Mira cautioned, stopping her.

“ What do you mean? ” Emma asks terrified.

“ She... ” Mira turns away and bites her lips, “ she's infected. ” she said. There were actual tears of regret in her eyes for the first time in a very long time.

“ She can't, that can't be true! ” Emma cries.

“ Wait! How can you be sure? She could be just traumatized. ” Bituin says.

“ She's right! ” said Stephanie surprisingly when she had returned to her senses.

“ I was grabbed by the shoulder when we were on the ledge. ” she continued. “ I didn't say anything because I thought it was nothing. ”

“ it is nothing, Stephanie! ” Emma cried. “ You were grabbed not bitten. ”

“ Fear, convulsions, there are all signs. I've seen them before. At the class, before it, all began.” Stephanie replied.

“ You're not turning. Give me your hand!” Emma said and confidently approached her but Stephanie drags herself up and stepped backward.
