#Chapter40Rhydian's POV.1I would rather be anywhere but here right now. I'm sat at my desk with Selena sat opposite me, glaring at me. The she-wolf just doesn't fucking listen. She was told plenty of times not to rile Amaris up or to be disrespectful to her, and what does she do? Exactly the opposite of what she was told. After Amaris first attacked her I was beyond shocked. She wasn't at all like I expected, Alpha Eric spoke very highly of her. But when I met her, she didn't seem at all like him. He described her as loving and caring, that is not how I would have described Amaris when I first met her.But I was wrong about her, so very wrong. It's obvious now, she attacked Selena cause she knew I was her mate. I knew something was going on, I did feel something for her but I thought it was a purely physical attraction. Imagine my shock when I picked up her scent in the forest, everything finally made sense. But, then I was frustrated with Amaris. I didn't understand why she was
#Chapter41We had packed up the majority of downstairs. I decided to start on his office 15 minutes ago and all I've managed to do is stand frozen in the doorway. I took a deep breath then slowly stepped into the room. I went straight to the desk, I walked around it and took a seat on the black leather chair.I breathed heavily as I examined the room. It was gorgeous. All pieces of furniture were made up of wood, apart from the chair I was currently sat in and the little two-seater sofa on the right wall. The left wall had a tall oak filing cabinet, with a small wooden bookcase next to it. The desk was copper-coloured with black trim around the edge. The office was spotless, everywhere had a home with nothing out of place.I grazed my fingers against a small stack of books on the desk. I began opening the drawers seeing what was inside. I open the last drawer and saw a book, hiding half under countless files. I smiled to myself as I picked the book up."Little Red Riding Hood." I g
#Chapter42After I left Lucas and Elijah at the packhouse, I met Ria at my house. I'm cooking us both food before we settle down with movies and wine. "You know, I have missed your cooking," Ria said as she sniffed the air. I laughed and turned to face her while she was sat at the kitchen island. "Drew not feeding you?" I chuckled. "Oh, he feeds me plenty." She smirked. My eyes went wide at her and I dropped the spoon I had in my hand on the counter. "Oh my god, I did not need to hear about any of that." I shrieked. I picked the spoon up and chucked it into the sink. "What... Sex?" She asked, casually. "Oh my god, Ria." I yelped, shaking my head. "Have you not-?" She started to speak, "No." I blurted out, glaring at her. She stood up and came to me. "Amaris." She soothed, I shook my head and glanced at the cooker. "I don't want to talk about it," I said through gritted teeth. She turned my head back to her and took a deep breath. "We don't have to, don't worry." She comforted me,
#Chapter43Rhydian stood at the top of the stairs, running his hand through his hair. All he had was shorts on, which were hanging off him loosely, showcasing his prominent V line. His abs were distracting me, I couldn't peel my eyes from him. So, I definitely didn't think this through. "Amaris, what's wrong?" He asked, huskily. I blinked a few times, watching him descend down the stairs. Every step he made, my eyes moved with him. Admiring his whole body. I could hear Ria sniggering behind me, I whipped my head around and scowled at her. "You." I pointed at him, "You need to make Ria your Gamma," I huffed. He raised his brow at me, his lips curled into an amused smile. "You woke everyone up to demand Ria becomes the Gamma?" He asked. I nodded my head, "Yes." I stated, "And you'll give her it." I declared. He chuckled then looked behind me, I turned my head and Ria was glaring at me. "Sorry, Alpha. The wine has gone to her head." She bowed her head, apologising. "Fuck off, I'm
#Chapter44I woke up with my head pounding and my mouth drier than a desert. I groaned and blinked a few times. I glanced beside me and Ria was sleeping peacefully next to me. I groaned, lifting the blanket over my head. After last night I am never setting foot outside again, I'm too embarrassed and ashamed. Rhydian pretty much kicked me out last night.'He will have known you were turned on.' Aurora chuckled. 'Maybe you need to speak to someone that has had sex.' I groaned and tried pushing her away, 'Amaris, when it comes to sex... we are both a little clueless. I can't give you any advice or anything.' She fought against the barrier. 'I know... Please don't say that word.' I cringed. It's not the actual word I don't like, it's the memories that are involved with it. It's almost like the word is a trigger for images to flash through my mind. The memories are tattooed into my brain and no matter what they don't leave. "Someone is grumpy this morning." Ria chuckled. I peered ou
#Chapter45I picked up the steaming mug of coffee that was on the kitchen island. Ria had gone for a shower before we head to the packhouse. I'm a little nervous to see Rhydian since I can't control whatever is happening down there. I took my phone out of my pocket and pulled up the internet. I guess some research wouldn't hurt. Why do I tingle down there about a man? That should give me some sort of answer. I scrolled through the links, I had no idea what to click on. I clicked on a random link and my eyes went wide. Goddess, all this is new. 'We'll be going into heat soon. We're due for it.' Aurora warned. I groaned and dropped my head down, resting it on the kitchen island. She-wolves go through heat twice a year. I first went through heat at 16, it wasn't as painful as I expected, I mean it hurts, but compared to some she-wolves mine is very mild. I was told that it could have been because of my wolf. The only time a she-wolf can get pregnant is through heat, otherwise, th
#Chapter46"Selena," I growled, warning her. I grabbed hold of the door handle and went to open it, "You're a fucking..." "You just said lots of bad words. Amaris isn't my mummy." Cory exclaimed, holding my hand a little tighter. "Stay out of this, kid." Selena rolled her eyes. I chuckled and picked Cory up. "I'm not arguing with you and I'm certainly not letting you get to me." I took ahold of the handle again and turned my head towards Selena, "I'll be sure to tell my mate you said hi." I winked before pulling the door open. The hall was silent, all eyes were on me. I strolled into the hall with my head held high. "Good morning, Alpha." A pack member smiled at me. "She's Amaris." Cory pointed out, scrunching his nose. I chuckled and nodded, "Indeed I am." He chuckled and wrapped his finger around a loose strand of my hair. "Who is your mate?" He asked, twirling his finger in my hair. I stopped walking and glanced at him. "Can you keep a secret?" I whispered. "I'm not allowed t
#Chapter47We spent the rest of breakfast chatting with everyone. The things I have been feeling were creeping up on me but before they started to get worse, I focused on anything else. I found there were 25 apples in the basket on the table and I lost count on how many members were in here. After we had finished eating, a man entered the hall. He was scanning his eyes around the hall, he stopped when his eyes landed on Cory who was sat playing with Rhydian. His eyes lit up and he smiled at us. As he got closer to us, I recognised him. He stopped walking and stared at me. "Amaris?" He questioned, shocked. I nodded and chuckled. "I didn't know you were back." He gasped. I stood up and went over to him, "How did you not know?" I laughed, "I've been back for a while now. I came back for the funeral." I muttered. He smiled sadly at me. "It's good to see you. You look really good." He announced. "You too, Drake." I smiled. Drake was in our friend group in school, we were all close. H
