Adele's POV
"I thought you were in danger, never assumed you yourself were the risk." Victor snorted coldly. His coldness effected me too much but I was not ready to lose."Good to know you can assume wrong." I smirked. Victor tightened his grip on the steering wheel. His cold face had grown colder.
"Do you have any idea what were you doing?" Victor was really furicious.
"What? Just attacked an underworld base." I replied casually as if it was just a matter of seconds.
Well, wasn't it?
"We got an alert from the organisation headquarters. I was sent here to stop you."
Owwo.... so he was ordered to do so. Impressive!
He never liked to be ordered. But he was bound to follow the organisation rules. As an in charge of the organisation here, he needed to take care of the safety issues. It was his duty.
But why would they ask to stop me? Did they ever plan to do that?
"That mafia organisation? Blood
Before Adele could even walk, a motorcycle came towards her rushing. It just passed her with a gap of inches. She jumped backwards with the sudden incident. The rider turned his neck with an evil smile before getting out of vision. Albert got out of the car in a hurry. He looked at the rides skill. That man must be a professional. Pulling Adele by hands, he pinned her on the car. "I warned you before. Leave what you are trying to do." He was scared somehow. He didn't know why suddenly he started to care about an unknown girl so much. Was that because her connection with Elijah Wilson? "I'm not here to leave. And they were just trying to scare me. No one has guts to attack me." She laughed at his concerns. Those concerns that stop her from the goal, she chose to forget them. "You are stubborn as ever." Albert gritted his teeth. She was the first person to disobey him on his face. But the charm of her confidence never leaves a chance to impress hi
Reaching at the office floor, Adele found herself in an awkward situation. Everyone was looking at her with wide eyes. Eva came towards her running. "Where were you yesterday? We were so tensed. You are okay right?" What would she reply? That someone sent people to kidnap her? Or she was unconscious for a long time? Even she was threatened by a mafia leader and attacked his base? None of them was good idea. "Hehe, I was just in some problems. It's okay now." She didn't want to explain. "Do you know assistant Ryan was asking about you yesterday? God! He was damn handsome." Eva was really very childish. Rose pinched her to stop saying rubbish, "Adele, you were not present on the second day of job and the assistant was finding you. I'm afraid your job is at risk." Adele was fearing the same. But never guessed she was that much popular in CEO'S office."I think you might have a chance too meet the
"What if I don't sign?" Albert tightened his fist, his muscles tensed. He worked hard to rebuild the Knight Enterprises. Maybe he had another businesses, but this was the closest to him. He couldn't afford to lose it. "Afraid?" Adele mocked his vulnerability. She smirked while going through the papers again. She didn't care about his property or name. But she was also not ready to sign those papers only for his happiness. Of course he didn't treat her well. "What's your connection with Elijah Wilson?" He again asked in a stern voice. "And why are you so concerned about him?" She also raised her voice. Albert was shocked to see her shouting. She never did it before. He looked at those papers once again. He took some deep breaths to calm himself. Then said softly, "If you don't want to sign, then don't. No force." Adele was taken aback by his sudden change. Wasn't the reason he found her? Then why did he suddenly start
Adele's POV Mi Amor? I raised an eyebrow. Then a devil grin crept up my lips. I was rather feeling helpless. There are a lot of persons to observe my every movement. Sometimes I felt I lacked freedom. But sill that gift made me feel a little happy. Long time, no one called me Mi Amore. I took the gift with me and again started to work. When I was too much attentive in my fileworks, suddenly Eva cleared her throat.I looked at her with a question. With a smirk, she took the gift from my desk and started to examine it. Observing the luxurious wrapping and the greetings card, she gave me a knowing look. Fool. "Mi Amor....ohhh!" She looked from the side of eyes, "You didn't say you've a Knight in shining armor. What's inside it?" Her smirk made me laugh. "I didn't open it." I said casually. And I was not interested. She rolled her eyes and started started to unwrap. But to her utter surprise, ther
Adele's POV Dad! Albert had dad's picture in his bedroom?! It's been a long I've seen him even in pictures. I didn't take any of his memories with me. Because I never wanted anyone to know my real identity. I bent down to the nightstand beside his bed and took that frame in my hand. I slowly trailed my finger over the frame feeling the warmth of dad's hand. I could remember his scent, that made me feel protected. I felt someone's gaze on me. For some good moments, I forgot I was not the only one in the room. It was Albert's room and he was also there, right behind me. "Who's he to you?" His cold tone never knew how to leave. I had a lot of trust issues. Is it good to let him know? The person who abandoned me right after the wedding. Then found me again for some signatures. That so called husband could never be believed. But again, he was the person who saved me though it was not needed. He met me again and again bef
"So Dylan was your middle name. And every time you used it to befool me?" Adele looked at him coldly. That man didn't say her anything about Albert Knight or his own identity. He just pretended to be a survivor who came when she was drowning. Robert was sitting like a kid who got scolded from his teacher and were asked to call his parents. He was looking at Albert from the side if eyes. That brat didn't let him maintain the good image. It was drained that moment she knew his real identity. "But every time you helped me not because of my marriage, right? You knew my real identity and my father too." Her eyes were cold while looking at Robert. She understood the reason behind all of his support, care, concern and love. Both of the brothers were close to Elijah Wilson and so with her. Robert knew the real identity and that's why tried to keep her safe. But she guessed something a long ago. Maybe only being a relative was a better reason th
"Adele!" Rose was blinking her eyes looking at her with shock. Eva was standing with her mouth wide open. Blake and Noah were looking at her up to down. "What? Have you seen any ghost?" Adele asked being irritated by their gaze. They had been looking at her since she entered the office. Even every employee was looking at her with those expressions. She was thinking from the beginning what was their reasons. "Tell me truthfully girl, are you stalking Albert Knight?" Eva said pointing her index finger at her., "You have been to the CEO's office more than anyone ever did. And today you came with him. How?" Adele was surprised how they knew about it. She got down the car on the road to avoid these gossips. But bad luck! "You were in his car, right? Your picture has become the hot topic in our office gossip page." Blake said with a smirk. Well, there was a gossip page too? H
"Mr. Lan, I thought the CEO would be here." Albert was enraged with the thought just a newcomer company disgraced him. He came to meet them by himself and the CEO didn't care to show up and even didn't provide any decisions with the man in front of him. How dare they! "Errr....Mr Knight, actually she's quite busy." Nathan didn't know any other excuse. He himself didn't know what was Adele doing. But the bitter truth was she ditched her own company to work with other ones. Sometimes Nathan wondered if she really cared about those properties of billions. "Busy? What did you mean by busy?" Albert asked in a cold tone that made Nathan gulped his saliva. Damn you Adele! If Nathan found her, she would be beaten to a pulp. Nathan sighed and dialled Adele's number. But she didn't pick the call up. Albert wanted to bury him alive. He was fuming with anger. He never tolerated any lacking in respect. "I think, I'm not interested in De
