In the meeting room
Albert was sitting impatiently while sparing death glares towards Ryan and Adam. Both of them were trying hard to control their laughter as his constant gazes were of no work. The moment Albert's eyes fell on Elora, he earned a sheepish smile from her. For some reason, he was not able to glare at her. He had some soft corners for her.
"When will your employee come with presentations?" He asked at last. He had been waiting there for the last ten minutes and there was no trace of anyone. He was being patient for the sale of his past relationships with them, basically for Elora.
"Damn! Jacob Smith has done some better jobs than the actual owners. Why are you so careless?"
Adele's POV I could hear faint voices. I knew it was Everett. Though my eyes were too heavy to open, I could understand how tense he was for me. The effect of anesthesia hasn't been out yet. I felt my body felt a ton of weight over it. I could hardly open my eyes. "Amber! You've got your senses back." Everett whispers into my ears, noticing my movements. Before I could nod, he again said, "Take it easy. You will be okay, huh..." I slowly opened my eyes and saw a blurry vision of Albert sitting on the sofa of the cabin, hands on his head. There was a frown between his eyes, his face seemed tired. Everett gave me an assuring smile while pointing at him, "He had been so tensed for you. He was even awake t
"Find who tried to attack her. Don't leave that bastard." Albert called his subordinate as his blood boiled with the incident. Adele was badly injured. His fake anger hurt her that much. If he was beside her that wouldn't have happened."Calm down. I'm not dead yet." Adele smirked at him laying on the hospital bed. Her heart melted knowing how much he cared about her. At last he admitted."How come you are so calm? Did you plan it to scare me?" He rolled his eyes."Come on! I love myself. So I'm not gonna hurt myself. I'm relieved because Robin has gone after them. He will make sure to make them pay. Don't worry." She explained.Albert sighed. It was true. Robin always took care of Adele. Now that he was
It was the day when Adele was released from the hospital. She needed a few days more to stay there. But Everett managed it somehow. After that day, Albert didn't say anything about their childhood. He didn't mention it. And when she tried to ask anything, he simply avoided. But curiosity was killing her inside."What are you thinking for that long? You didn't even miss me these days." Adam frowned at her as she was engaged in her thoughts. He said a lot of things in the meantime but she didn't respond."Not like that. Tell me how are you and El doing?" She asked with a sigh."Elora? She's such a sweet girl. She never complains about my job." He smiled. That was his first concern. He had to come home late many times, sometimes he couldn't make it. He needed to go on mis
Adam was in the interrogation room with Andrew to find out proofs about David's connection with those attackers. Though they could understand it well, proofs were hard to get. The Colombo family was backing David, which made their work harder. When Adam was busy in thoughts, he got a call from Elora. She was waiting for him in his office for a long time. But now it looked like she needed to meddle in his work. So he called him anyway. With a sigh, Adam reached his office, Andrew followed him as well. All of his anxieties ran out, when Adam noticed Elora sitting with a smile."Why did you call me?" Adam asked curiously as it was rare for her to do so, especially when he was busy with work."I've found som
"How's your scar now?" Albert checked on it while drying her hair. Because of the fresh scar, she was not allowed to contact water. So Albert needed to bathe her so carefully. Now she was sitting in his walk-in closet as he was about to treat those scars. "You are seeing it, not me. So you know it better." She smiled faintly. Though the scar was deep, she could bear with the pain. She learnt all kinds of survival techniques and fighting in childhood. After parents ' death, she understood, people needed to be capable of preventing any kind of situation. Life was never fair. "That's healing, slowly. Wait here. I'm coming with medicine." Albert asked her to sit there like an obedient child and went to bring her things. But when did she listen? All the time her eyes were on a hidden box in his closet. She did notice anything like thi
"Let's go on a car race." Albert suddenly proposed to her. She was looking at him with confusion. Sue was hurt and that dear husband of hers was trying to take her to a race. How could she drive with such a new scar?"Not fair. I will lose today." She rolled her eyes then guestered at those scars. Albert smiled seeing her like this. He pinched her nose a little, "Do you think I want to play unfair with you? No way! I was talking about your best friend. Adam called me.""Damn! My friends and families ate calling you more than me. Can you explain?" She asked and narrowed her eyes towards him."Are you jealous?" He couldn't control his laughter."Let's go."
"Why are you looking so gloomy? What happened? Did he say something to you?" Albert suspected something was happening between them but they were not letting others know. As they were best friends for so long, they could play along so well. "Of course he said something, but it's a secret. I can't tell you now." She tried to smile widely but it was not possible at the moment. There were a lot of things in her mind. She couldn't concentrate on acting well. The person in front of him was the biological brother of Alexandra. This man was giving her shocks after shocks about his identities. Since their first meeting, she had been knowing something new every time. "Why are you looking at me like this?" She was acting strange. In the meantime, Adam parked the car and joined them too. He gave a faint smile to Albert and glanced at Adele.
Parking slot of an old house Alexandra found she was tied up in a dark room. Her eyes could see only dark, not sure if she was blindfolded or it was really nothing but darkness. Actually she was feeling numb all over her body, almost like an unconscious person. She didn't know what was going on. But one thing she knew for sure, she was drugged. The moments she could recall before reaching here was at the airport. She came out of the airport, was about to get into her car, some people came from nowhere and the rest happened too soon to notice. Those people must have a powerful backer, maybe she guessed it. Or else never ever they would have dared to kidnap her. Because it could result in something worse than death. "She has got back her senses, hush!" She heard a faint sound. She knew the drug they used on her was really powerf
