Devin Jenner blinks at her.

“Yeah, the people thing,” Tara says brightly joining in. “With the thing and the people! He’s been talking about that one a lot lately. Very thrilling.”

Apparently sensing that Addison is trying to shift the topic of conversation away from her relationship status, Devin launches into a story about a project that Addison is 99% sure is completely made up. Addison nods along enthusiastically like she’s familiar with all the details, and she somehow manages to keep a straight face—even when Devin inserts three different acronyms into one sentence, rattling off a comical jumble of letters that Addison knows doesn’t actually stand for anything at all.
