49. Trusting No One

"Where is Angel actually," muttered Erick, looking towards the expanse of pine forest that was the natural fence of his castle. "Did he really go with those bastard wolves?"

Erick's hands seemed to be tightly gripping the edge of the guardrail on the balcony of the room, his jaw seemed to be tightened. "But Rose's mind did say that Angel went with that bastard, and kept saying that Angel was a traitor."

"Unlucky!" Erick cursed harshly as he hit the iron fence, not caring that the pain immediately assaulted his fist. "I knew Angel was angry with me, but I never thought he would betray me like this."

"Darling...."

The soft call didn't make Erick turn around, because he already knew who the owner of the voice was. However, soon he felt a hug from behind, followed by soft kisses on his cheek.

"You should get lots of rest, darling... daddy said that-"

Erick suddenly turned around quickly, making Rose's voice choke. He squinted sharply, trying to read his wife's thoughts again.
