Truths Forever Locked

The minute I arrive at Jordan's office, I am suddenly struck by a volt of anxiety, theorizing how he would react after the revelation yesterday.

Out of all the people I have worked for, Crown is the earliest to rise. At seven when I arrive, he's already at his seat talking to someone. I sneak across the room as two gentlemen are preoccupied with their discussion. Jordan is reading a notebook which must have been handed by the man seated in front of him. He looks professional. He must be a project manager reporting to Jordan.

I sneak to my office, silently hoping he hasn't noticed me yet. But it would sound ridiculous would it? Hoping not to be seen by the man who literally is with you the whole day.

“Keila.” Jordan's nonchalant voice is enough to send a crumbling sensation inside my stomach. I swallow hard, slowly delivering my attention to the man.

“Mister Crown?” I manage to speak, in a whimper of course.

“Make me a coffee please,” he says coldly, eyes still intact with the pages.
