“Has he handled something like this before?” I ask her and she stays quiet.

“Mom..” I say, but she is still silent. “Mom!” I say much more louder, and this time I catch her attention.

“Yes!” She yells back. “Yes, Quincy! He has! Now stop being a big cry baby and shut up about it!”

Is she kidding me right now? Is she seriously calling me a cry baby?

“A woman just died, and you’re calling me a baby!?” My voice is vicious and loud.

“Or do you want us to hold hands and sing a lullaby?” I ask sarcastically.

“I can’t be in the same room as you right now.” I say as I wa
