Chapter Thirty-eight

Zack.

I parked the car in front of my parents house and braced myself for the unexpected. Hearing Elaine sigh heavily, I looked at her and gave her an encouraging smile.

"Don't worry too much," I said. "You haven't done anything wrong."

"I married you, Zack. I'm probably your mother's worst enemy," she replied.

"You guys just need to talk more."

"Only if she turns her pride down a few notches."

"Your mom sounds like a piece of work," Audrey commented from the back sit. "Should I be worried?"

"Not at all. Her and Elaine can't seem to find themselves on the same page but that will hopefully be put aside for the night." I looked at Isaac and his eyes were glued on his tablet as he watched a cartoon. "Isaac."

He looked up at me. "Yes?"

"It's time to leave the car. Let's go see grandma and grandpa."

He nodded and Audrey helped him out of the car along with herself. Elaine and I got out of the car too and we all walked into the house. To my surprise, my parents were waiting at the
