Chapter Twenty-two

Elaine.

The car stopped right in front of the house and I looked at it through the window. We were finally back home and to be honest, I missed it along with the people found inside it.

I opened the door and stepped out before pulling my handbag over my shoulder. Zack got out of the car as well and instructed the maids, who came to welcome us, to take the rest of the luggage inside.

I hoped that our honeymoon settled things between Zack and I in the sense of comfortability and hopefully, trust. We had obviously progressed during the past few days in plenty of ways and I hoped that we would continue to do so.

Zack suddenly looked at me from the other side of the car and I flinched in surprise.

"Ready to go in?" He asked with a soft smile.

"Ah, yeah," I answered and walked ahead of him. The only thing that changed significantly was the way my heart fluttered whenever he said or did something out of character.
