Dead people of the town

Bathilda woke up with a start, sweating and she saw Baron face hovering above hers. He had his finger on his lips to hush her and he made a gesture with his hand for her to follow him.

“What is—” her words were soon cut short when she heard noises coming from the house and on listening attentively, her eyes widen immediately. “No,” she said and got down from bed but as she made to rush out of the room, Baron held her back and started dragging her towards the window.

“But Kathryn is in danger. We have to go help her.”

“You should get out of this place and save yourself,” Baron said and added, “before it is too late.”

Bathilda could see how lost he was and she shook her head. “I can never leave my people to die. I am a Blackburn,” she said and got out of his grip.
