18. The Mark

I stood in front of an open window with a shawl tightly wrapped around my arms. The wind gently blew through my hair, and I breathed in the cold air of the night. 'Tis dark and cold outside, and this night could not become any quieter. I have not spoken to Eros since our wedding ceremonies. I sighed before I brushed my hair out of my face.

I assume he has his alpha duties to tend to. I also have not spoken to Miss Laurel since the morning she helped me get ready for my wedding ceremonies. All I have been thinking about was Alcander and if I could magically make one person appear in front of me right now I would choose him because I feel safest in his arms.

A knock suddenly came from my door and I snapped out of my thoughts before I closed the windows. I opened the door and found an elderly woman dressed in black standing in front of me.
