chapter Forty – Fifth

I return to the room where Bima is being treated and I see him sitting on the bed looking at the cell phone screen.

His hands are bandaged and the floor which is previously covered in broken glass is clean.

I breathe a sigh of relief, I think it is better for me to just leave rather than bother him.

"My mom hasn't come yet, right?" Bima asks me when I am about to turn around and leave the patient's room.

"Yes," I answer him, yet I turn around, facing Bima again.

I stand from a distance. I guess he still needs me so therefore I discourage to go.

"And Eve?! She said she would see me again but why hasn't she come yet?" he asked again.

This time with his eyes drooping, Bima turns his head towards me.

"I don't know. Really it’s None of my business!" I answered so.

I look away. I don't want to feel sorry for this man who often berates me. If I do, I worry myself not to be able to get a divorce.

"And Daddy?"

"He said he was very busy," I answered again.

I don't know why I stay here
