Episode 60

I scanned the room for a moment again, hoping to spot the elusive bug, but I still found nothing. “I can swear there’s a bug here,” I muttered under my breath, frustration evident in my voice. I placed my hands on my hips and sighed.

“Oh well,” I said to myself with a shrug and walked over to my reading table. It was covered with books of all genres and topics, reflecting my passion for reading. I felt that the more I read, the better the person I became.

I had no job ever since I married Rick. The only job I had was to be a housewife. I often cursed myself for not getting a job so at least something would keep me busy from his cheating nature.

Luckily, I found solace in my books. Whenever he brought a woman home, I’d block out their noise with music in my ears and just read a book till I fell asleep.

I couldn’t exactly do anything about it and I felt he did it effortlessly because we were in a contract marriage. I was the one who went and foolishly fell in love with that man.
