34. Talia

I felt shortness of breath. Talking with Li Changying caused the feeling of dread to settle in my stomach. Over the past few weeks, I've grown quite fond of my baby and the thought of losing it made my insides clench. But what if it turns out to be true? What if Lukas kills our child? 

'No. What the hell are you thinking? He would never do something like that' 

I let out a sigh. He was a demon after all but it was impossible to believe that he would kill his own next of kin. If he really did want to kill the baby he would have let me die instead of calling the fairies and sitting by my side.

After that, I could not join the party. Lukas seemed to be in a kind of mood because he did not object to my decision. I retreated back to my room and let my body rest for a while.
