Chapter 60 White Lies

Inhaling sharply, Salis paused outside the devil's office door to collect his thoughts and mask his deception. He was mildly concerned about Faelon locating his son. The child wouldn't have a clue who his father was and would want to remain where he was. The child's adopted family would be easy to locate but without a first name more difficult. Salis cursed himself for giving Faelon, Gian's new last name. He hadn't realized that they were a royal descendant. Hearing a shout to enter, Salis opened the door and put on his stoic look.

"You are far too quick with your work, right hand. Yet no child's soul has graced my soul river," Lucifer grunted bitterly. Nodding his head, Salis sat down before his master and tilted his head.
