Second Wave of Refugees

`"What happened here?" one of the beastmen exclaimed, taking a cautious step forward.

"Argh!" he cried out in pain as the ground beneath him suddenly crumbled, his skin scorched by the intense heat in that fleeting moment.

"It's hot!" he gasped, recoiling from the searing ground.

"Perhaps that's why those monkeys have been lingering here all this time," the leader mused, gingerly touching the ground with his fingertips, wary of the intense heat radiating from below.

Despite the slight sizzle and the burn on the tip of his finger, the leader of the beastmen remained undeterred.

"I believe the humans tampered with this area," he declared, his voice laced with determination. "Perhaps they attempted to destroy the well, but they failed to anticipate that the underground channel would remain unblocked, allowing the water to surface."

The leader couldn't help but feel a sense of fortune at their unexpected discovery, recognizing it as a stroke of luck amidst their dire circumstances.
