Chapter forty three

I turned to Melanie and she also looked at me. I could see the sadness and fright in her eyes and i knew she had just confirmed the truth of what my uncle said in my own eyes.

I had known it all along and that was why i never made any effort to search for any ways of getting my powers back the whole time.

There are two ways of getting my powers out of Melanie. First was to kill her but I just couldn't bring myself to kill her and that's why i thought of showing her how life was as a demon so maybe she would agree to the second option. Unfortunately, the life of a demon wasn't one to be proud of and so the second option of turning her was out of the question.

Myself on the floor and Melanie's fate being decided by my uncle. I knew i had to save her but how? I feel totally drained.

"Just look at yourself. If Kyle was to attack you now then you'd be dead even before your first blow to him is delivered." those were my uncle's final words to me before resuming his squeezing of Melanie.
