I knew that I probably looked like a zombie. It had been days since I had any real sleep. Angel being missing, visions of my future, and the weight of everything pressing down on me was the perfect recipe for insomnia.

The only relief that Nika and I had was that Neo was aware of the bond. It also helped that he knew about what would be happening soon with Calvin. Maddox did not know, but at least one of our mates was aware of most of it all.

I was still on the fence about Maddox because of something that I had learned in a recent vision. Once the bond snapped, he would end up cheating on it. Right now, I did not blame him because he did not know, but he would at that point. I was desperately hoping that he would change his mind before it happened, but only time would tell.

Dad was the one who taught me that a mate-bond connected two people on an intimate soul level, but that did not mean that it was the only thing that mattered. He once told me that a mate needed to hold re
