Florence found herself sitting on the chair in Tristan's lawyer's office. She wore a black dress that made her looked sophisticated in her own way. She let her hair down .

This morning Tristan made sure that Florence belongings are moved into his penthouse and Florence is thankful for that. She even tried to say her thank you to him but Tristan asked her to get ready for meeting his lawyer.

So , now they both sat in front of the lawyer. The lawyer was female by the way and Florence had never thought that she would see a day where Tristan would be smiling but here they are.

Her husband was way too friendly with his lawyer, Lavender. She was his school friend so that means that she was older than Florence but Lavender looked way more young than her age.

"Nice to meet you , Florence. I am Lavender Smith." Lavender greeted with a smile and judging by the way of how she acted, she didn't seem like a jerk.

" Likewise." Florence said and internally winced because she sounded way too rude than she intended but Lavender smiled at her nonetheless.

" Your wife is extremely beautiful, Tristan. Congratulations. " Lavender said as she turned towards the male.

" Thank you." Tristan said, voice crude and not so friendly at all.

He hadn't spoken much to her this morning, hardly integrated with less than ten words and Florence was kind of happy that he didn’t spoil her mood early in the morning.

" I think I've covered most of the things that you wanted , Tristan. " Lavender said before she turned to look at Florence. She passed her a file. "This is basically a prenuptial agreement. Read it carefully. I'll be here if you have any questions. " She added and Florence took the file in her hands.

Not even two minutes later Florence already have a question.

" What am I supposed to do with one hundred thousand dollars? " She asked, her voice rang in the office. Her question was directed towards Tristan so Lavender didn't spoke a word.

Tristan raised his brows as he looked from his file and towards his wife.

" What? Do you want more than that?" He asked, voice neutral but Florence heard the sarcasm clearly.

" I think she means that it is too much." Lavender intervened in between as she looked between the newly wedded couple.

"Am I supposed to pay for the upkeep of the apartment? Then I could understand." Florence said and Lavender gave her an awkward smile.

" Read the next line, Florence. " She said and Florence did. Next line said that Tristan would be the one who would pay for the upkeep of the penthouse along with the salary of the staff.

" One hundred thousand dollars is your allowance for each month. It's not much for me. I make more than that each hour and I could give you much more than this but I don't think that you are worth it." Tristan said and smirked at Florence when he saw her grit her teeth as she glared at him. Lavender, however frowned at him.

Florence went back to reading. The agreement was mostly good, extremely good actually. The only penalties that she would gave to pay would be when the marriage ended from infidelity from her side. In that case she won't get anything from Tristan's property and it it ended with Tristan's side than Florence would get half of the assets that Tristan had earned.

She would have signed the agreement blindly it was that good.

Until she saw a section that said that she would have to return all the money back if she had any criminal records in future. Florence gritted her teeth at that. No wonder that the prenuptial agreement was so good . Her husband was sure that she has something to do with his brother. Stupid.

She signed the agreement nonetheless. She scrawled her sign with such a fury that the nib of the pen bent into half. Lavender looked at her with awkward smile when Florence returned her copy to her.

She stood up from her place and Tristan raised his head to look at her.

"I'll be in the lobby." She said and without waiting for his reply, she made her way out of the office. Tristan watched her leave the office with a smirk on his face.

Tristan followed her almost immediately. They walked silently towards the car.

The car ride was silent too and Florence was looking out of the window . Her mind was still not settled with the way her husband saw her as a criminal.

She wouldn't mind what Tristan thought of her but she hated the fact that he thought that she was capable of doing some harm or probably killing someone.

" I have nothing to do with Edwin." She said out loud because she hated being claimed as a criminal .

Tristan turned to look at her and then scoff right at her face.

"We'll see about that." Tristan said as he once again looked at the road ahead instead of looking at his angry wife.

" What will I gain by doing something ill to someone like Edwin? He has been nothing but polite with me!"

Tristan once again looked at her and scowled. "Well, see what you got yourself now." He gave her a sarcastic smile and Florence frowned at him.

"What did I get from this, Tristan?" She asked voice neutral.

" You got millions of dollars just by this marriage. " Tristan reasoned. His voice held confidence and Florence really wanted to smack him.

"The money will go in my father's business. It has nothing to do with me." She said, voice getting louder as she spoke. She heard Tristan laugh as he once again glanced at her.

"Well, You got to marry someone who is independently rich and can walk on hus two feet. Isn't that enough for you?" He asked, snarkily and this time Florence gave a humourless laugh.

"Do you think that I would go through all this just so that I could marry an old jerk like you who is so narcissistic and emotionally constipated?" She asked, voice loud and she watched as Tristan look at her with scandalous expression.

" I am not old." He Said with his eyes narrowed and Florence frowned.

" Was that all you got from what I said?" She asked and scoffed as she looked away from him.

"I don't know but you don't look like someone who had lost her fiancé. " Tristan said, eyes on road but Florence could see him clench his jaw as he spoke.

"This was an arranged marriage, black. I had no interest in him and I am sure that ge had none in me too. We would meet at weekly dates for formality and that was it." Florence clarified. "Unlike you, your brother was polite and I pray that he would be fine wherever he is right now. I would have loved to marry him instead of marrying you." She didn't even noticed when they reach their penthouse building but as soon as the car stopped, Flore was quick to March her way out and slam the car door as hard as she could.
