"I didn't know," I said to Harry, "I didn't know."

"I believe you," Harry said.

We had been too late. Harry had come to look for me so that we could perhaps convince Tiffany to stop but we had been too late, and she had been abundantly clear that we were.

"I should have known the three of you was working together," she had said when she saw us at her door, "what were you trying to accomplish? Were you trying to get me to expose myself? Was that why she wanted me to tell people who I was?"

Harry explained to me the whole plan. He told me everything, from how Tiffany had posted the article on the day I apologized, but Emily had had no way of knowing I would apologize that day
