“We are going to have this conversation once. After this, we pretend we don’t know each other’s intentions.” Siren opened the door and led me out.

I had to agree with her. We were able to converse freely knowing no matter what we said, there was no evidence. We had only known each other for a few days. No matter how much we detested our common enemy, it was not nearly enough to build trust between us.

I followed her out of the changing room and through the hallway to one of the VIP rooms. I didn’t understand where we were going until we stepped in and she drew a curtain, revealing the club below us. Now this was a view of the club I had never seen. We were facing the bar and all I could see was money. Waitresses stuffing hefty tips into the little aprons over their skimpy uniforms, bartenders ringing cards and receiving what I guessed were too many bills for drinks, patrons shoving money at the girls to get them to move closer.
