Chapter 31: Lake Cabin

Kevin had called training early because it was Friday before Valentine’s Day. He knew better than to wait until the last minute to do something for his wife of fifteen years. It only took him fourteen years to learn that.

Taz unlocked the door to their room and flipped on the lights. In the center of the bed was a large mixed flower bouquet with a red envelope laying on the corner of the bed. She picked it up and pulled out the card.

On the front was a beautiful sunset over a mountain lake. Inside was a poem that was at least twelve layers of cheesiness. Riffraff must have agreed because he wrote gag at the bottom. On the blank side of the card was a note in his handwriting.

*Pack a bag for us and be ready to go by two. Your Valentine, Riff*
