Evie lay in the empty bed looking at the alarm clock, waiting for it to go off. After nearly three years of waking up in an empty bed, she should be used to it. She hated it. Finally, the alarm began to beep and she reached out and turned it off.

She tried to keep up with her regular routine that Daniel and Cade had established for her. It had changed slightly after she moved. Stretching at the bottom of the outdoor stairs to her apartment, she put her earbuds in and ran towards the small gym. Once there, she went through her regular workout and then jogged back home.
