Chapter 28

Roman and Kat pack everything Reese will need. Kat packs up Reese’s car and Roman packs up his car. “I think we have enough to make her happy for a little while. I can come back and get the rest,” Roman says.

“I will just feel better if she is with us,” Kat says.

Kat wakes Reese up to let her know it’s time to go.

“Sugar, it’s time to leave,” Kat says.

Reese doesn’t say anything. She gets out of bed and slips into some house shoes. She grabs a housecoat and slips into it. She walks out of her apartment silently.

“She feels defeated, Roman,” Kat says.

“We will get her straight,” Roman says.

“I know. I hate to see her so broken,” Kat says.

“Me too, love,” Roman says.

Kat helps Reese to her car. Roman follows them.
