Chapter 2: Money is lifeblood

The man, seemingly indifferent to Bianca's presence, acted decisively.

With a crisp click, he attached his carabiner to hers, forging an instantaneous connection, binding them together in an unexpected union.

Bianca, initially irritated by his dismissive demeanour, prepared to voice her protest.

However, before she could utter a word, the safety belt tightened abruptly, entwining them in an unforeseen unity.

Despite the disparity in their heights—Bianca a head shorter—their combination created the epitome of an endearing height difference. Her face nestled against his chest, the distance between them merely a fist's breadth, an ideal space for exchanged breaths.

Observing the man's pores at such proximity, Bianca found herself marvelling at their extraordinary beauty—each pore immaculate, cute, and arranged with perfection.

What captivated her most were his eyes, reflecting not only her image but also an emotion that eluded precise definition.

Most importantly, she saw his eyes again, and not only was there a reflection of her in those eyes, but there was also something that seemed to be ...... like ......?

How could he, the high and mighty Big Boss, be like him, he must have been so angry with him that his eyes were blurred.

"Add fifty thousand!" His whisper reached Bianca's ear, a proposition to which she responded with a quizzical tilt of her head.

Bianca tilted her head in surprise.

"Action!"

He wrapped his arm around her waist and was about to jump when Bianca hurriedly shouted to stop, then said as if determined,

"Add sixty thousand!"

"Yes!" As if every second counted, he stomped his feet and jumped with Bianca.

Bianca cried out in shocked confusion, "I'm not ready!"

He grimly reminded her, "You can't be ready for everything in life. Look into the distance!

As long as your eyes look away, you will not be overwhelmed by the abyss beneath your feet!"

Bianca jumped again, wasn't that her motto? But it was still scary!

But since this jump was worth $110,000, she might as well give it a try!

She looked off into the distance, stretched out her arms, and did what she had practiced hundreds of times in the yoga studio.

The onlookers gasped and pointed their cell phones at her, praising her incessantly: "It's so beautiful! So beautiful!"

Bianca and the man took the long swing and swung into a breathtaking view of the earth.

The wind blew past Bianca's face, her braid fell away, and her cloud-like hair swayed with it.

Bianca forgot her fears, her unhappy early years, her childhood, her youth, the jealousies, the slander and rumors of others, the thick piles of bills.

Her body became looser and looser, her posture more and more ethereal, her dance more and more subdued.

She squinted her eyes, her long upper and lower lashes crossed, and the sunlight filtering through her lashes made her feel unusually warm.

Bianca thought it was too good to be true! She could swing like that forever - for money!

Suddenly she remembered that there was someone else beside her.

When she looked up, the man, who had been so cold a moment ago, was even colder now, as if he was just walking on level ground, without any fear in his face.

Only his hand around her waist was tight as if he was afraid she would fall!

In the headset came the instruction from the Chief Director, "Now look at each other, look deep, smile and have a light in your eyes.

Hearing the instructions, Bianca immediately got into the mood, while the man was still cold and refused to meet Bianca's eyes.

Bianca said anxiously, "Will it bankrupt your group if you smile at me? This is an advertisement for you!"

"It won't bankrupt you!"

He finally met Bianca's gaze, but said, "But I don't want to smile, and I have the power to say NO to things I don't want to do!"

"But I don't have the power to say no to what I don't want to do, and I don't want to have to jump through hoops again. ...... Why are you looking at me like that?"

It turned out that the man never looked at Bianca, too coldly, and now he was staring at Bianca's cheeks, unblinkingly, with such a demeanour that Bianca thought he was going to kiss her cheeks the next second.

She was suddenly nervous. If he kissed her in front of everyone, she would not be able to get rid of her bad reputation as a "rich student harvester".

Those yoga teachers who couldn't compete with her deliberately spread rumours and slandered her, so they gave her that name and spread it around.

Because of this reputation, she's been relegated to the 10th alternate for this shoot; otherwise, with her height, looks, and yoga poses, she'd be a solid first choice for the shoot.

Bianca warned Frost, "I'm warning you, I'm the model you hired and there's a shoot going on right now, so please ......".

"What's wrong with you? You have a rash on your face, it's serious ...... you have atopic dermatitis?"

Bianca heard this and unconsciously touched her face, felt a patch that stung and itched like nothing else, and immediately thought again that she was in the middle of a photo shoot and hurriedly lowered her hand.

But the itch on her face wrapped around her whole body like a gust of wind, itching and itching and it started to heat up and drive Bianca crazy.

"Bad, I'm sensitive again!"

Bianca wanted to scratch, it didn't matter if she scratched all over her face, just to relieve the excruciating itch, she mumbled,

"It's too itchy! I have to scratch it!"

She was about to raise her hand to scratch hard a few times when the man pulled her hand tightly.

"No scratching!" With that, he lowered his head and ran his tongue over the red rashes.

Bianca froze, and now she felt her face stop tickling, but her heart started to panic and squared up, messing up the rhythm of the swing.

Fortunately, the mountain wind calmed Bianca and with her excellent balance, she was able to control the swing and it finally returned to its original rhythm.

Just as Bianca was breathing a sigh of relief, Bianca's safety line suddenly snapped!

Accompanied by cries of surprise from the surrounding audience, Bianca fell head first, looking down at the lake fifteen meters below, Bianca's face was white with fear, she unconsciously grabbed it, but the Man Gai pulled her hand tightly.

Bianca panicked and saw his eyes, still cold but more determined.

"Don't be afraid! Do you hear me? Don't look down, look away!"

Bianca nodded meekly and looked into the distance with tear-filled eyes.

What was left of the other long rope, however, could not hold the weight of the two men and made a tearing sound.

The man pulled at Bianca with all his strength, in his mind he had the power to do not only what he didn't want to do, but also what he wanted to do. Right now he wanted to pull on Bianca and wait for help to come.

But the rope thinks differently, and at the same time, Bianca doesn't.

The sun, the sea breeze, the chirping of the birds, everything made her feel perfect and relaxed.

She suddenly felt that this moment was the most important highlight of her life for the whole world, the moment when she had been the most useful.

Thinking of this, she raised her head and looked at the man, who had also turned white and his arms were shaking from pulling her with all his might, but his eyes were still so cold and determined.

"The rope won't hold two people!"

Bianca's eyes grew cold as well.

"It will hold!"

The man grabbed Bianca with all his might.

"I'll get 110,000 even if I die, right? Oh yes, and compensation, all for my mother!" Bianca finished with a surprising smile.

The man thought to himself, at a moment like this, still in the mood to laugh and think about money, greedy for money!

But before he could reply, Bianca let go of her hand and fell vertically.

In front of his eyes, that stubborn little face with the tear stains receded further and further away, she plunged straight into the water, the waves grew bigger and bigger,

Bianca simply disappeared without a trace in front of his eyes.

It itches too much!
