ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-TWO.

TWO DAYs LATER.

I'm sitting at the kitchen counter sipping my herbal tea and listening to Savannah tell me about the train adventure we took two evenings ago while she eats her cereal for breakfast.

“…and when the train began to shake and scream when it slowed down, I got scared.” She giggles. “Did you get scared too, Aunt Ivy? I don't think you did because your body wasn't shaking like mine was.” She says as she shoves a spoonful of cereal into her mouth.

I shake my head as I chuckle. “No, my little lioness. I've been on a train many times, so I know what to expect, and you have to remember that the trains and tracks they travel along are very old.” I ruffle her hair. “Would you like to go on another train ride?”

Dropping her spoon back into her bowl, milk splashes across the countertop. “Si. Si.” She chants, bouncing up and down on her stool with excitement.
