Drip, drip, drip…

My body won't stop trembling as a cold breeze bathes me.

My stomach growls loudly, reminding me I haven't eaten, and my mouth is dryer than a parched desert.

Drip, drip, drip…

Gods! The sound of water leaking somewhere in the basin is driving me bonkers.

Drip, drip, drip…

“Please, can someone make it stop?” I whimper softly. “It's driving me crazy.” Exhaustion slowly overrides my body.

I haven't been able to sleep because I'm too afraid to close my eyes in case it will be the last time I'll open them again.

Because of my lack of sleep, seconds feel like hours, hours feel like days, and a day already feels like it's been a week.

I wriggle my toes and fingers, trying to keep my blood circulating, as I've lost all feeling in my hands and feet.

As I lift my head, a sharp pain shoots through my neck and my vision blurs, likely due to the drugs I've been pumped with.

Aimlessly, my gaze sweeps the room and I can't help but think that wild animals have better living
