A Savior Indeed

'Oh, the nerve of you Joey. You don't cease to amaze me with your stupid guts' Susan snapped at her stepsister after Joey threatened to burn her mother's clothes. The closer Richard Williams approached them, the more fire burned in Joey's belly, to enable her to say all the nasty things she could think of to Susan.

'You are a bastard. Sorry to break your sorry ass bubble, but my dad told me about you when he was drunk one night. He told me this grave secret. You are a wanderer, a wild pig without anyone out there to own up to bringing your sorry ass into this world. So when I tell you that you are below my maid and that you can't even clean my bathroom, you should know that what I'm talking about is for real. You are way beneath me, Susan' Joey barked, her eyes looking towards Richard Williams from time to time while he approached them. Throughout the entire argument since it started, however sharp Susan was with her words at Joey, she maintained a sense of calm, but now that Joey had given her a blow below the belt, she was damn furious. Calling Susan, a bastard? Susan damn near lost her senses this time around.

'Shut up' Susan barked, her teeth snarling at Joey in unadulterated anger.

'Or else what? what if I don't shut up?' Joey asked, provoking Susan by the second. 'You want to beat me up?' she asked Susan again. 'I dare you, you have never had the balls' Joey bellowed. The resounding slap that Susan gave Joey the following second was enough to send her back to her celebrity friends as if the wind had delivered her to them.

'Phaaaow' the slap sounded like a race car jetting past a competition.

'This is all you will ever be able to do to me in your life, you good for nothing, the bastard child of a harlot mother' Joey sneered at Susan, holding the part of her face that had been slapped in her right palm as if covering it that way would make the pain sting less. Susan gritted her teeth. Joey was driving her insane, so insane to the extent that she wished she could slice Joey in several places with a razor, or even a paper. She wished she had long and sharp nails to claw at Joey like a tiger until she bled. By the time a furious Susan was about to land another hateful slap on Joey's cheek, a hand, strong as steel and cold as ice, held on to her little wrist, holding it in place before it landed on Joey again. Surprised, Susan turned to look at who it was that had held her back, only to be faced with the shocker of her life.

'What the fuck?' she asked herself when her eyes met with this handsome man. His face was long and he had a square jaw, just like her son Michael. He looked just like Michael, what on Earth?

'Oh Susan, my lovely sister Susan, why do you hate me this much?' Joey started to cry. She held her face and wailed as if she was indeed the victim in the current scenario that Richard Williams had come to meet. Susan was taken aback. The way Joey was crying, even Susan started to think back if she didn't really abuse and bully Joey as far as the way she was crying was concerned. All this drama? Susan was astonished indeed. Joey's eyes were red. Tears filled them, and she indeed looked and sounded genuinely pitiful, as if she did not just have a wild and arrogant tone at Susan a couple of moments ago, insulting her and her mom. While Joey was still putting up a show, Susan turned around again to look at the man that had held her hand and stopped her from hitting Joey. He looked very familiar.

'This is strange' Susan said to her hearing only.

'Why did you hit her?' Richard asked Susan with a cold tone. He assumed, from the way Susan was looking at him, that she was blown away by his handsomeness. He thought that just like other females, Susan had instantly fallen for him. He sent out an aura that repelled Susan and whatever kindred vibe she wanted to hold on to towards him. He looked irritated.

'What are you looking at me for? I asked why the hell you beat her up like that for?' Richard asked again, this time in a more disrespectful tone. From the way he sounded, Susan figured out that he was on Joey's side.

The thought of Joey cursing at her and her mother crossed her mind again. The fact that she had threatened to burn her mother's clothes, and even called her a bastard, crossed Susan's mind and allowed her anger to burn once more, even more, heated than the first time.

'It has absolutely nothing to do with you' Susan suddenly barked at Richard. She wriggled her wrist while he held her firmly, trying to break free from his grip.

'Let me go you, a bloody intruder. This has absolutely nothing to do with you' she yelled at Richard.

'Richard, please let her go. She's crazy' Joey supposedly intervened on Susan's behalf.

'What?' Susan muttered, turning to look at her stepsister in shock. She started to laugh sarcastically, and somewhat hysterically.

'I told you, she's out of her mind. She wanted me to introduce her to a couple of my manager friends, trying to force herself into the business. I told her she's not ready for it, but she thinks I just don't want her to succeed, so...' Joey explained to Richard.

'This is unbelievable' Susan said in a faint whisper. Of course, Richard believed what Joey had just said because he indeed saw Susan slapping Joey without mercy and decorum, and Joey didn't slap her back or retaliate, so it was safe for Richard to assume that Susan was a mad woman.

'She wants to join in the business with such average looks?' Richard Williams asked, checking Susan out with a ridiculous aura.
