As they were huge in number and up against only one prey, Ruben used it to his advantage, they couldn't attack him at once so they came in pairs. Growing up, he had followed military training to build strength and his martial arts skills so taking on three men at once wasn't so difficult.

He shuffled two steps backward, evading the first enemy's attack and delivering a fatal blow to the second enemy's gut.
