Chapter 29 Song Shuang's Parents

Song Shuang had a long dream.

In his dream, Gu Baisheng carried that little child and tightly protected the child in her arms.

She wouldn't let go of the child no matter who came over to pull.

There was a cold voice of a man telling her, "He's dead."

"No, he didn't!" Her eyes were all read. She screamed like crazy, "My child is not dead! You're all liars! You want to trick me into giving you my child! You want to kill him!"

People around were whispering, saying that she was mad.

Yet Gu Baisheng already went frantic. Her hair was loose, and her eyes were filled with insane hatred. She scolded him loudly, "It's you! Song Shuang, you killed my son! You falsehearted man! You said you didn't care, but you wouldn't try your best to save him because he is Cheng Bi's kid!"

"Shengsheng?"

On his hospital bed, Song Shuang's head was full of cold sweat. His pale lips and closed eyes moved because of his nightmare.

Gu Baisheng was dozing off by the bed. Hearing his voice, she was startled. She went over and touched his face, "Song Shuang? Song Shuang, what's wrong?"

Song Shuang suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed her hand that was on his face tightly. He explained anxiously, "It's not like that! It's not like that! Shengsheng..."

Gu Baisheng looked at Song Shuang who had just woken up from a nightmare confusedly and worriedly. She blinked her eyes and asked him gently, "Did you have a nightmare?"

Song Shuang gradually woke up from his chaotic dream. He saw Bai Shengsheng looking at him worriedly.

He then suddenly remembered Gu Baisheng was dead.

And that was just a dream.

He let go of her fingers.

Gu Baisheng took back her hand. Looking at Song Shuang, she asked with concern, "Do you need to drink some water?"

Song Shuang closed his eyes.

He suppressed the guilt, unease, anxiety, fear, and other complicated feelings down.

After a while, he said, "You should go now."

"Huh?"

Gu Baisheng didn't understand what Song Shuang meant.

He just woke up, and he wanted her to leave.

But where to?

"Go. Otherwise, it would be too late..."

Song Shuang didn't finish his sentence.

As if in response to his prediction, the door was bashed open.

"What happened? What happened?"

A middle-aged woman who dressed like a noblewoman and was quite fit rushed in, wearing a fitted cheongsam and cashmere coat.

Behind her was a serious-looking middle-aged man.

The woman was wearing high-quality emerald jewelry around her neck and on her ears. She was also wearing an expensive jade bracelet and diamond ring on her wrist and finger.

She was also quite fitted. Her look resembled Song Shuang.

It was clear that when she was young, she must be a glamorous woman.

The man behind her was tall and serious. Even though he had the vicissitude of age, time also brought him maturity and wisdom, making him awesome.

Yes.

The woman was Song Shuang's mother. Twenty years ago, she was Beicheng Lin Family's famous first lady, Lin Fengya.

And his father, Song Zhaoyang was the wealthiest of Beicheng in the past decade.

Therefore, Song Shuang was really the descendant of a prestigious family in Beicheng.

His mother was the daughter of a prestigious family of scholars.

His father was also an upper-class member of the Song family, a famous family in the Beicheng era.

And he was the only child of this family.

Gu Baisheng should be familiar with these two.

But she was not as familiar with them as one might expect.

Lin Fengya was her mother-in-law, and Song Zhaoyang was her father-in-law.

But they thought that she didn't deserve Song Shuang when he married her.

They had much concern with her.

Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang tried to stop Song Shuang multiple times.

But he was quite stubborn. Once he chose someone, no one could alter his decision.

Song Shuang went on his own way and married her.

Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang persuaded her separately on multiple occasions, trying to make her leave Song Shuang.

But every time Song Shuang found out, he took her away with a tough stance.

In the end, she couldn't hide her pregnancy. Song Zhaoyang and Lin Fengya finally realized that his son made this girl pregnant, and he had to take responsibility.

So they couldn't say anything. Even though they thought this daughter-in-law was no good for their son,

she did get pregnant, so they treated her a bit better.

Then she gave birth to a child.

Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang were happy.

They wanted to throw a one-month-old party for this kid.

Yet there was a rumor saying that this kid was not Song Shuang's.

After hearing this, Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang didn't say anything at first. But they secretly asked the nanny taking care of Gu Baisheng and the child to take the hair of this child for a paternity test.

They couldn't hide it from Song Shuang.

After finding this out, Song Shuang intercepted the hair halfway.

Later, the party was held in style.

Gu Baisheng didn't know how Song Shuang explained the identity of this child to his parents.

He probably lied.

Because Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang treated this child very nicely.

Even though they didn't like her, they adored their grandchild.

Besides, after the kid died, Lin Fengya fell greatly ill because of it.

But because Gu Baisheng was also ill, she didn't meet with her mother-in-law.

After the child died, she was unsatisfied with Song Shuang and distanced herself from Song Family.

Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang rarely asked Song Shuang to take her home.

Now she was Bai Shengsheng. She met with her mother- and father-in-law again.

She could imagine how they would treat her.

She then immediately realized why Song Shuang wanted her to leave.

Lin Fengya and Song Zhaoyang rushed over here probably because they already knew that Song Shuang was forced to marry her.

Indeed.

After Lin Fengya rushed into the ward, she saw Bai Shengsheng. She stopped and looked at her strangely.

But Song Shuang was her only child, the one she cared most about.

So Lin Fengya didn't deal with her first.

She dashed over to his bedside and touched his head. She asked with concern, "How are you feeling? Did you hurt badly? Are you still in pain? Where's the wound? Let mom see."

Lin Fengya touched her son's arm and saw the gauze on it. Her eyes were red.

She touched her son's head while crying in sadness, "You never made any trouble. Why were you beaten up by those street hooligans?"

Hearing Lin Fengya's question, Gu Baisheng felt guilty.

She clearly had a lot to do with that.

After Song Shuang got hurt, she also explained the situation to the police.

The police said that these men were bouncers from the casino where Bai Daihai was taken. They came to teach her a lesson because she reported on them.

And they were stopped by Song Shuang.
