CHAPTER FIFTEEN: Fates cruel joke

“I see my son has chosen. Please sit.”

“Chosen?”

“Don’t play coy with me. I see the mark he left on you.”

Unconsciously rubbing the ‘mark’ and subconsciously kicking himself in the ass for not wearing his jacket. He gaze at the Lord of dragons as he tried to master up his courage but there was no words he could utter. Seeing the elementalist discomfort, he was certain his mind raced so he tried to ease the fire.

“It’s his mistake for imprinting on you but it’s not his fault for receiving the fates gift.”

“Me? Gift? I have never been attracted to-“

“Man. As far as I can tell, neither has he.”

“Then how?”

“Its fate cruel joke to dragon kind. We only find our mate once in a lifetime. With other kinds, they are lucky enough to be blessed with another chance.

For us it is only one and happens once, that's why we treasure our mates. Once dragon and man are on the same page it is impossible to tame their drive to claim.
