JASMINE’S POV

“ My lady you have to start getting ready.” the lady who accompanied me upstairs says.

“ What happened down there?” I ask her still seated on the bed and not making any attempt to stand up and start preparing for the banquet.

The lady had led me up to this room and said that it had been prepared for me in case I decide to not stay with Noah, as per his instructions.

In my confused and somewhat overwhelmed state, I had followed her quietly and just sat down on the bed once we got into the room, not saying a word to her since then.

Sitting here I can’t quite place what exactly made me overwhelmed, was I angry at the tone Noah used on me, was I upset that he dismissed me that quickly without letting me have a say, or maybe confused and perplexed as to why I feel he was responsible for what happened to Malakai back there?
