Chapter 29: Am I Fired?

Bella grabbed her bag and flew out the door, slamming it behind her. That man is infuriating! She stomped down the hallway to the elevator. When she reached the lobby, she stalked toward the front door.

"Is your room to your satisfaction, madam?" asked the desk clerk.

Surprised, she stopped short and looked at the man. "Um, yes, thank you, it's fine," she said briskly.

Once outside, she realized she had no idea where she was going. She decided to turn right and go to the end of the block. Looking right again, she saw a bridge crossing the canal and chose to head that direction. Once across the canal she felt her pulse beginning to return to normal. To the right again was a coffee shop with outdoor seating and she decided that was exactly what she needed. She sat at a table overlooking the water and ordered a cup. Sipping her coffee, she sighed and felt tension leaving her body.
