“What do you take me for?” Richard frowned. “I would never do anything to hurt her, so the answer to your question is a capital no. I didn’t interfere.”

Mateo was forced to believe him because his best friend wouldn’t lie about something like that.

“Won’t you let me see her at least?” he asked while pointing at the other side he couldn’t that was blocked from his sight.

Richard shook his head. “When she gets better.” There was no way he would let him see her in that condition.

Mateo had no problems with it, so he stayed a bit and chatted with him for a few more minutes before taking his leave.

Now, left alone, Richard went on to freshen up before going over to Isabella’s bed to check on her. He made sure the doctor observed her before he turned in for the night.

The following day as early as 7 AM, Isabella’s parents were already at the hospital to see her with some fruits and food.

Fortunately, Richard had already dressed up for work and put away his travel bag inside the trun
