LIFE GOES ON
Laura and Rubin took the left pavement,leading to the bus stop to catch the early morning bus which travels along the route to their school– Laura kept fretting behind him which made her look a little funny. He secretly glanced at her and smiled to himself, almost with a chuckle. She instinctively glanced up at him and caught him in the act.
"Why are you laughing? " She asked, pausing in her steps. He instinctively put on a straight face and turned his gaze away from her.Strategically clearing his throat, he answered. " Nothing– I think we should pace up now else we'll miss the bus " With that, he sauntered ahead of her. Laura tilted her head with a sceptical gaze as she stared at his back. She scoffed and raced after her. "Hey, wait up– You better tell me what that was about" She called. Rubin scoffed with a sceptical gaze as he settled in his desk with his eyes tailing after her while she approached Fred and Patrick's desk."Is she really serious about this?" Not wasting time, Alixies dragged back her chair, trying her best not to disturb the serene environment in the class as she jerked to her feet– this brought Rubin's attention on her again. With the rack of the door, Mya and Laura both froze with their gazes fixed on the door which was yet to throw ajar, as the familiar voice penetrated the quite room. Their thoughts went blank with absolutely nothing in mind-it was like a dead end for Mya. Laura's flushed gaze instinctively fixed on Mya's and she flinched."No, do something now, Mya ---you must not be seen here" Laura mumbled and Mya fidgeted as if she could actually hear her sister's warning. Hansel sauntered out of the car and Alixies who watched from a distance stuttered in disbelief~ her jaw stiffened as the words faintly escaped her lips. She thought but then, a thought hinted which shoved off the other- her eyes instinctively widened as they involuntarily bated. " Did they already call for a ransom for his head?" She mumbled. But then, something else caught her attention which gave life to her previous thought; the man guarding the entrance spontaneously bowed his head in respect the moment Hansel trod past him.'' What the hell is going on here" She exclaimed and as if on an impulse, added. "Nothing seem to add up~ I must find out what all this is about" . Ben spontaneously shook in his entangled seat as if to free himself which made Hansel chortled."Let me go, dad– I'm really not into this game of yours, please. I guess we already talked about this" Ben stated in a swift, his voice echoed with anger, frustration and pain. To which Hansel inched to his side in a flash, clenching his jaw with his crawled fingers which made Ben groaned, his glaring eyes stared at his face like a piercing arrow which clearly spelt out his anguish and hatred. Hansel smirked, his mouth set in a tight frown~ he gripped Ben's shoulder so tightly that his bones felt pinched even though the his woolen coat covered it." Hansel sauntered through the door into the hall that evening to meet his family seated at the hall, watching the news update on Elosie's suicide case. As often happened with mysterious deaths, speculations became rife by the hour as everyone tried to find possible causes and the rumour mill continued to chum it's vicious tale. His approaching steps brought the gaze of both Delia and Ben, who had no idea of what was really going on and Marvin's attention on him." Dad" Ben exuded, matching up to him at the entrance, of which Delia followed with a smile and hugged him, landing a kiss on his cheeks."Welcome, honey" She cheerfully greeted. With the fast approaching steps, Alixies swiftly crept down the corridor as quiet as she could and spontaneously ducked into a short hall that led to a number of rooms which seemed like a cluster of classrooms of which she hid behind a corner~ her twinkling blue eyes and brown curls instinctively peeked out from her hideout.Halfway through the corridor, she noticed two men approaching the room which Hansel had kept Ben but then, what caught her eyes made her gasp and her lower lips instinctively quivered. She was petrified with fear~ her brows wet with invisible sweat and her knees felt numb as she held on her breath with a horrified gaze." Oh.... those kids" Her voice trembled and as if on an impulse. " No, this can't be- don't tell me you also deal in selling of kids as well, Mr Hansel."A lot seem to be rushing through Alixies thoughts now with the sudden appearance of the three kids. Alixies watched the men trod into the room which held Ben hostage by Hansel with the kids as she ducked into a safe corner nearer; making their conversation more audible for her ears. With her hands readily fixed on the recorder, she swiftly pressed it into motion as Hansel's hoarse voice echoed with a sinister look~ ignorant of her presence, he shot a chuckle." Um, wait...this isn't fun enough; why not get it more fun" He said as he signaled the men in.Ben's gaze still fixed on the gun which hovered over his skull; fear fluttered in his chest like a trapped bird and his face became paler. With the entrance of the two men, their little companions instinctively caught his attention which made him shot in the trapped chair with fury.
