"You..." I stare at him, shocked and nervous that he might actually discover that I am his ex-wife, Xiellenna, at this very moment. But, of course, I won't let myself be caught. Not like this. Not this easily. I won't.
"You must be kidding me, right?" I whisper, mustering the strength that I had lost a while ago. Damn it, Exelle! Don't let yourself get caught so easily! Think of ways to escape this situation, damn it! Of course, I have to, or all of my hardships to come this far would be in vain and meaningless.
And yes, he may have caught me off guard like this, but he can't bring down my defenses that easily. Maybe I faltered, but I am not the old me. I'm not the old Xiellenna anymore.
