I really didn't see anything

Emily found herself slumped on the floor, overwhelmed with embarrassment. She couldn't help but cry, kicking the air with her feet in frustration.

Just then, Joel who was outside the ward, upon hearing her cries, approached the door to listen. Confirming her tears, he let out a frustrated sigh and kicked the air in frustration with his left foot.

"Emily, I swear I didn't see anything! I truly didn't see anything!" Joel yelled, desperate to reassure her.

Between sobs, Emily replied with a dismissive "Humph," sobbing even louder. Joel ruffled his hair in exasperation, trying to figure out a way to console her.

"I promise, I didn't see anything. Now, please, get dressed. And remember, you must be hungry—I’ll buy you barbecue," he implored, raising his voice again.

Emily glanced at her growling stomach, realizing she hadn't eaten. "Alright, I'll dress up. So, what's the plan? Are we sneaking out?" she asked, trying to redirect her focus.
